Research & Development
In 2007, the development of a new Dutch Design Guideline CUR226 for basal reinforced piled embankments was started in the Netherlands under the responsibility of CUR Bouw & Infra, CROW and Delft Cluster. Within this committee, Arthe Civil & Structure b.v. was responsible for the drafting and elaboration of the step-by-step plan for the design calculation of the reinforced mattress. Furthermore, as a member of the core working group, Arthe was co-responsible for the review of all documents and papers that were incorporated in the guideline.
In 2013, a new committee was started. The purpose of this committee was to update the 2010 guideline based on experiences and findings gained from applying the guideline in practice and processing results from various R&D projects. Arthe took on the role of author within this committee. The fully updated guideline was published in 2014.
Activities:
- Establishing a roadmap for analytical design calculations for the reinforced mattress system
- Development of analytical calculation method for determination of deformations of the reinforced mattress
- Preparation of calculation examples for the design of a pile mattress system
- Review of documents and papers for inclusion in the Design Guideline
- From 2013 (revision of the guideline) author and secretary within the committee
Courses
Following our contribution to the drafting of CUR 226, we also participate in the annual courses organized by PAOTM in this field.
